Microlief™ Equine Microcurrent Therapy is designed for use on horses that are in general good health.
Microlief™ is a non-medical method for treating pain and should never be used as a replacement for veterinary care. If you have any doubts concerning a horse’s state of health, always consult with your veterinarian.
Equine Safety
There are specific regions on the horse’s body where Microlief™ should not be placed:
Head, Face, Eyes, Mouth
Ventral Neck
Poll, keep the placement no further forward than the 2nd cervical vertebrae
Heart
Abdominal midline
Under the base of the tail (anus, vulva)
Sheath and/or Testicles
Teats
The Microlief™ treatment areas on the horse’s body must be clean and free of any topical applications.
Do not apply Microlief™ to any area that has been treated with any topical application such as rubbing alcohol, liniments, or DMSO.
There are specific conditions, which if present, are contraindications for using Microlief™ therapy.
Do not use Microlief™ if any of the following conditions are present:
Broken skin or open wounds
Current or recent bleeding
Dermatological conditions
Fever
Infections
LAMINITIS/FOUNDER
Pregnant mare
Sepsis (whole-body inflammation)
Cancer
Any local area that has been treated with a steroid injection within the past 7 days
Horses that are experiencing colic
Horses with any type of electrical implant
Horses diagnosed or suspected to have Lyme Disease
Horses diagnosed or suspected to have Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM)
Any area where there is numbness
Horses being treated with Transdermal Drug Delivery medication patches
Horses with any condition under current veterinary care. Check first with your veterinarian.
Additional Warnings
Discontinue use if the horse shows signs of discomfort
Discontinue use if skin irritation develops
Each horse needs their own set of electrode patches. Do not re-use electrodes on another horse
Treatments should be limited to no more than six Microlief™ units at one time
Areas being treated with Microlief™ units should be monitored every 24 hours for adverse reactions
Microlief™ can be used continuously in one location for up to five days. After five days, remove the unit for one day before reapplying.
Keep out of reach of children
Electronic monitoring equipment may not operate properly when the unit is in use
Disposal Information
This product does not contains any hazardous substances and can be disposed of normally.
